Bali is one of the world’s most popular destinations—and for good reason. But before you pack your bags and board your flight, it’s important to understand the visa rules that apply when entering Indonesia. This guide breaks down the essentials so you can choose the right visa type, prepare the required documents, and avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport. We have a post on our discussion group dedicated to this. Feel free to ask if you have any question:

Let us break it down clearly step by step for you as a first-time traveller to Bali as of September 2025:
Visa (E-Visa on Arrival – B1)
You can apply online within 3 days of arrival via the official immigration website: https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id/
If it is not yet within 3 days of arrival, you can do it at another official website as well https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/application_bvk
Alternatively, you can still get it on arrival at the airport, but doing it online saves time.
Bali Tourist Levy
This is a new requirement from Feb 2024 – IDR 150,000 per person.
You can pay it in advance online at the official site: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/
Once you pay, you’ll get a QR code that will be scanned when you arrive..
Health & Customs Declaration (e-CD Form)
You can apply online within 3 days of arrival via the official immigration website: https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id/
You can also do it at another official website as well https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/
Here are some commonly asked questions FAQ:
Are visa & tourist levy 2 different documents I need to apply for?
There are 2 separate thing matters. Visa is for Indonesia and tourist levy is for Bali.
Is it possible to add or change the prescription medication after submitting the e-CD form?
You are advised to resubmit a new form.
